My Journey with the Saurian Companion in Natlan
Embark on heartwarming adventures in Genshin Impact's Natlan, bonding with Saurian companions through epic quests like 'In the Footsteps of the Chosen of Dragons'—an unforgettable journey of growth and discovery.
As I arrived in the vibrant new region of Natlan in Genshin Impact, little did I know I'd soon be embarking on one of the most heartwarming adventures of my journey. It all began when I encountered a young Saurian who would become my constant companion throughout this land of dragons and ancient traditions. Honestly, I was totally blown away by how immersive this companion system turned out to be!

The journey really kicked into high gear when my Saurian companion fell ill, leading us on an epic quest to the volcano for a cure. This was just the beginning of what would become the "In the Footsteps of the Chosen of Dragons" quest series - a whopping 10 missions that really test your bond with these incredible creatures. Let me tell you, watching my Saurian grow from a sickly little thing to a powerful companion has been absolutely mind-blowing!
Here are the 10 quests that made this experience unforgettable:
Lights, Kamera, Action!

I started this quest by heading to the "Children of Echoes" area and climbing up near the Statue of Seven using Kachina. The view from up there was insane - you could see all of Natlan spread out below! The blue quest marker was easy to spot, and the photography mission that followed really helped me appreciate the beauty of this new region.
Tepetlisaurus Hide-and-Seek

This was hands down one of the cutest quests I've ever done in Genshin! After teleporting to the northern Waypoint in Sulfurous Veins, I found this big Tepetlisaurus playing hide-and-seek with the younger ones. Finding all the little Saurians hiding around - including one cleverly concealed on a wooden log and another burrowing underground - was like being in a real-life Where's Waldo? situation!
Gifts and Gifts in Return

The Rest Area near the waterfall west of Tepeacac Rise was where this heartwarming quest began. Visiting Imix at the Jeweler's shop in the Children of Echoes tribe started a chain of events that had me climbing trees and scaling cliffs to find special gifts. Following the glimmering markers made me feel like I was on a proper treasure hunt!
Waiting For Seeds to Sprout

This quest taught me patience in the most beautiful way possible. Climbing up from the Natlan Weapon Material Domain to that empty patch of land felt symbolic - like I was preparing the ground for something truly special to grow, both literally and metaphorically.
Treasures and Collectors

The puzzle-solving aspect of this quest really got my brain working! Teleporting to the area north of "Scions of the Canopy" and finding that NPC sitting calmly on her chair started what turned out to be quite the cerebral challenge. The satisfaction of solving that puzzle was totally worth the effort.
A Saurian Lover's Ordinary Days
This quest gave me such insight into the daily life of Natlan's inhabitants. Heading north from the "Scions of the Canopy" reputation area and finding that man surrounded by three Saurians was genuinely touching. But the real kicker? Being able to transform into a Saurian myself to understand their perspective - that was some next-level immersion right there!
Special Friends

Climbing up using either the Tepetlisaurus ability or Kachina near the Statue of Seven led me to one of the most unexpected friendships I've seen - a Yumkasaur and an alpaca hanging out together! This quest perfectly captured the theme of unlikely bonds that runs throughout Natlan.
Lies and Promises

Navigating the caves under Teticpac Peak was tense but rewarding. Finding that Yumkasaur blocking a Luxurious Chest started a multi-step process that involved:
-
Interacting with the creature
-
Transforming into a nearby Yumkasaur
-
Having a proper conversation
-
Feeding it with Raw Meat or Ham
The feeling of earning that chest after building trust was incredibly satisfying, and the "A Final Kindness" achievement was the cherry on top!
Weighty Wings

This quest had me fired up! Teleporting north of Teticpac Peak and confronting that bad trainer made my blood boil. Helping the poor creature being mistreated felt incredibly righteous, and the combat encounter was surprisingly challenging.
Feeling Like Fish Today!

The perfect way to wrap up this incredible journey! Heading to the southwestern shore near the Ancestral temple, I found this peaceful fishing dock. Destroying objects in the water and defeating that pesky Slime was satisfying, but using either the Koholasaur transformation or Mualani to finally catch that fish was the perfect conclusion to this epic series.
What really struck me throughout this entire experience was how each quest wasn't just about completing objectives - they were about building genuine connections. From the playful hide-and-seek to the emotional moments of caring for sick creatures, every mission deepened my understanding of Natlan's culture and the bond between humans and Saurians.
The character development of my Saurian companion throughout these 10 quests has been nothing short of remarkable. Watching it grow from a vulnerable creature needing help to a confident partner has been one of the most rewarding experiences in my entire Genshin Impact journey. It's crazy how attached I've become to this digital creature!
What makes this quest series stand out is how it seamlessly blends exploration, puzzle-solving, combat, and emotional storytelling. Each quest feels unique yet contributes to the overarching narrative of growth and companionship. The way HoYoverse has integrated the Saurian transformation mechanics throughout these missions shows how much thought went into making Natlan feel alive and interactive.
If you're heading to Natlan anytime soon, do yourself a favor and fully immerse yourself in this quest series. It's not just about the rewards or achievements - it's about the journey and the memories you'll create with your Saurian companion. Trust me, it's an experience you won't forget anytime soon!
